Mr. Miller is of-Council to the Middleberg Riddle Group and advises the commercial practice of the Firm. He provides counsel to clients on matters pertaining to real estate and business law in California and Georgia. He has significant international business, legal and tax experience in business development, foreign operations, tax oversight, contract negotiations with foreign governments, corporate restructuring and financial instruments, along with IPO experience on four continents.
Mr. Miller currently serves as the CFO of Proteus Capital Holdings, LLC, a financial services company, and as the Managing member of Edenborn Energy Partners, LLC, an oil and gas development company with operations in Louisiana. Prior to Proteus Capital, Mr. Miller served as CFO of General Moly Inc., a publicly traded mining company, and was responsible for the regulatory process of taking the company from a bulletin board listing to trading on the AMEX.
Until 2007, Mr. Miller was a member and the Executive Vice President, Interim CFO and Chief Administrative Officer of Enhanced Capital Partners, LLC (ECP), a venture capital/fund management firm based in New Orleans with offices in New York, Birmingham, Washington DC, Austin and Denver. He was a co-founder of ECP and served on its Board of Directors. In addition to these positions, Mr. Miller served on the investment committee of the Louisiana funds.
Prior to forming Enhanced Capital, Mr. Miller was with Freeport-McMoRan, the natural resource company, for more than 18 years, serving as Vice President and General Counsel of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., an international publicly traded mining company with operations in Asia, North America and Europe. In addition, he served as Vice President, Taxes for Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., McMoRan Oil & Gas Company and Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (a natural resource company with fertilizer, gold, geothermal, and oil and gas).
Education:
Mr. Miller graduated from the University of North Carolina and received his Juris Doctorate from Emory University and an LL.M. (Tax) from New York University. He is licensed to practice law in California and Georgia.
