Kathy A. Rito, Kat at has over ten years’ experience representing Louisiana health care providers including state entities, hospitals, home health agencies, LTAC/rehabilitation providers, nursing homes and individual physicians.  She practices in several areas of law pertinent to health care: medical malpractice; insurance coverage; provider licensing and credentialing; business, corporate and employment law; and general and premise liability.  Kat also advises clients on health law and regulatory matters including HIPAA/HITECH and EMTALA requirements, and assists in drafting and interpreting bylaws, policies and other internal governance documents.  Kat is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of Louisiana and Mississippi.  Super Lawyers has recognized her as a Louisiana rising star in medical malpractice and litigation from 2014-2018. 
Kat offers proactive risk management and best practice advice to all her clients, including bulletin publications and in-house seminars, to assist them in minimizing future exposure and attaining organizational goals.  In addition to in-house presentations, she has spoken and published on legal issues relating to health law and litigation:

Kat’s commitment to community health and wellness extends beyond the practice of law.  She is a Community Leadership board member for the New Orleans American Diabetes Association chapter and also serves on the board for Girls on the Run.
